Wallace Jordon Hytinen, 69, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 11, 2017. Wally was born in Detroit on June 22,1947 to Nicholas and Maxine (Schroeder) Hytinen. He graduated from Cody High School in Detroit in 1965. He enlisted in the Air Force on April 21, 1966 and served 4 years. He married Sharon E. Myers on February 20, 1971. Wallace Jordon Hytinen, 69, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 11, 2017. Wally was born in Detroit on June 22,1947 to Nicholas and Maxine (Schroeder) Hytinen. He graduated from Cody High School in Detroit in 1965. He enlisted in the Air Force on April 21, 1966 and served 4 years. He married Sharon E. Myers on February 20, 1971. Wally was passionate about coin collecting and sports. He enjoyed playing golf, basketball and softball. An avid Tigers fan, he often cheered on his hometown team. A devote Christian, he was active in his church, Pathway Community Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his children, Shannon (Jason) Rop and Matthew Hytinen; his grandchildren, Maiah, Anya, Isaac, Olivia, & Tristan Rop and Brenna, Lisa, and Paige Hytinen; and his siblings Nick (Nancy) Hytinen, Janet Clore, and Diana (Tom) Hulkkonen. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Wallace Hytinen; his parents; and his siblings Vina Fox, Larry McCormack, and Karen Salerno.

Wallace's family will receive friends for Visitation on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 3-9pm, with a funeral at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 6 Mile Rd (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.

An inurnment will take place privately at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak at a later date.

Donations are invited benefitting the American Cancer Society and Spectrum Health Hospice.
