Jack LeRoy, age 86, of Northville and Suttons Bay, MI, passed away peacefully September 2nd. Cherished husband of Rosemary (nee Michaels) for 54 years; loving father of daughters Susan (Michelle Newton) and Jill (Michael Zammitt) and son Michael. Born February 6th, 1931 in Leland to Roy and Bernice Firestone. Loving brother of Anita (deceased). Proud Papa of Joshua, Kayla and Alexa Strange, and Sophia Zammitt.

Proud member of Ann Arbor HS Class of 1949. Following High School, he served in the US Navy for 4 years. Jack then received his Bachelor degree from Eastern Michigan University followed by two Masters Degrees and a Specialist degree from Eastern and also the University of Michigan. He taught for 32 years as a Business Teacher in Livonia Public Schools, almost all of them as Head of the Business Department, developing it to include a large department of 12 teachers at Livonia Stevenson H.S. He prepared religiously for each day's classes and had a positive influence on the lives of his students, both in class and out.

He loved being at his cottage in Suttons Bay with extended family and friends. He always enjoyed traveling in and out of our country; golfing, skiing, sailing, watching Michigan football and other College Football teams- if Michigan wasn't playing. He loved winter on Marco Island and other Florida cities plus Charleston, S.C.. Warm weather brought him home to the North outdoors, as working in it was his true passion. Jack is so loved, and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
