Eugene Albert Schuette was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 19, 1930. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Matilde Banchero-Schuette. He is the dear uncle of Marcia Lonteen and the great uncle of Josh, Joe and Jake. He was preceded in death by his older brother and sister.

Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He lived in the Detroit area all of his life and worked for the Ford Motor Company as a Wood Model Maker, retiring after 34 years of service to the company. In his free time, he enjoyed using his abilities as a modeler to make toy trains and cars, but more than anything he will be remembered for his love of golfing.

Friends may visit Gene's family during a memorial gathering in his honor on Monday February 20, 2012 at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile in Livonia, Michigan 48152. At 5 pm a service of remembrance will be held in his memory. The funeral home is located on the north side of W. Six Mile and east of I-275 and Newburgh Road.

Gene's family asks that memorials be made to the Michigan Humane Society, the National Federation of the Blind, Habitat for Humanity or to the Special Olympics in his honor.
